Murrelektronik employees support initiatives that lie close to their hearts

Doing good together - that is what lies close to the hearts of employees at Murrelektronik in Oppenweiler. At this year's traditional summer fest on the company grounds, they not only celebrated a fabulous get-together of colleagues and their families but also collected charitable donations from a large number of people. The total amount collected was 777.40 euros. The representative of the family that owns the company, Caroline Hafner-Pinnel, was very impressed by the involvement of the employees and doubled the total amount to 1554.80 euros.

A portion of the donation will go to a family in Weissacher Tal, which has lost a young 28-year-old mother to cancer, leaving behind her husband and their two children (9 and 3 years old). The money will help the family with the needs that are most crucial for families in such difficult times.

A portion will also be donated to the Olgäle-Stiftung für das kranke Kind e.V. in Stuttgart. This organization helps sick children and their parents, particularly in the Olgäle Hospital in Stuttgart. It is active in areas where the city and state have reached their financial limits and provides support, for instance, by creating a child-friendly atmosphere, improving psychosocial support and financing ultra-modern technical equipment.

The recommendations for using the donation money collected at the fest came from the Murrelektronik employees themselves. They listed the initiatives that particularly resonated with them. Since this fund-raising event was met with such a good reception, another donation event has been planned for Summer Fest 2018.
